I still remember the first outfit I ever named. Flight Attendant With A Sense Of Humor That Saves Her Job Because She’s Always Late To Work. Yeah, it was a mouthful.
Four separate people looked at my outfit today, cocked their heads, and said “I don’t know how I feel about that.” And I love that.
Why would a college student in the Midwest of all places put those patterns together or think those shoes are a good idea to wear to class? I realized why I wear the strange things I do. Because I’m not getting dressed as me. My outfits are characters that have their own backstory and their own reasons for choosing those colors to wear together.
Yesterday I was wearing this. And I was obviously an Ivy League Drop-Out. Don’t you understand the pearls a little more now? Only a drop-out would violate that dress with a t-shirt. I fully realize the ridiculousness of this, it’s crazy to put that much thought into putting clothes on your body. But every day is dress up.
Today I’m a Heiress At The Park. What are you?
Until next time,
